The infinite pasting and copying of internet content descends from the tenets of postmodernism, from a focus on meaning to one of connections and experiences. To live in a world of photographs is to live in a world of substitutes and artifice. Photography has changed from a modernist medium that exists on its own to a universally coded language, a system of visual communication that defines our digital world. I was born in 1999, the year the Internet was invented. While seemingly all powerful and dystopic, it is a man-made entity. As humans, we have responsibility and choice.
